Environmental Policy
We are fully committed to minimising our effects on the environment whilst ensuring that your stay at Chauffeur’s Cottage is a wonderful experience. We would be most grateful for your support in reducing our environmental impact.

We have weekly collections for recycling (glass, paper, plastic and cans) and domestic waste with separate disposal bins in the kitchen and larger collecting bins externally

There is a composting bin located in the central island for any food waste

Where possible we use environmentally friendly cleaning products

Local produce is used whenever possible

We use recycled paper and minimise the use of paper, preferring e-mail for communication and the use of our website for advertising purposes

The cottage is newly renovated, very well insulated, energy saving bulbs are used and guests are encouraged to turn down the under floor heating if feeling too warm and to switch off lights when leaving a room

All wood used in the log burner is locally sourced

The swimming pool uses a geothermal heating system

All cottage (and farmhouse) linen and towels are dried in the pool room (under floor heated by geothermal system)

Water buts are used to collect rainwater for garden usage

We welcome cyclists and walkers, our situation in the South Down’s National Park is perfect for enjoying spectacular countryside that is easily accessible

There is information available on local pubs, restaurants and tourist attractions as well as public transport available
